The Egyptian glassworkers of 1500 BC formed intricate jewelry.  These early glassworkers formed intricate jewelry, bowls, and decorative wall tiles by heating simple forms of glass to fusing temperatures.  Around 500 BC, glass fusion began a decline and became nearly unknown until the early 20th century. An expansion of the use of stained glass and the availability of electric kilns marked the beginning of the current revival of kiln-fired glass as an art form.
